They're actually trying to trademark the Liver bird within their crest to stop people copying their crap. That would be like the GAA or Waterford United trying to claim the three ships as their own that no-one else can use!!

Mad blaa, remember the site I had up for Irish Soccer. I got an email to contact them, and phoned the no, yer wan was from the FAI (Fans Aren't Important) morketing deportment, posh cow, and told me to get the FAI crest of the site as i was not affiliated with them, (roughly translated meaning that they were'nt making a gant from the site), and told me that I had 48 hours to get the logo off it, or they'd have their legal eagles after me. She also mentioned that I had the FIFA logo up on de site. It was a link to the world cup quallifying tables on the FIFA site, and told me I'd want to lose that as well or they'd have their Johnny fucking Cochrane after me.
