This is something that I have been meaning to do for a long time. I'm totally sick of being ripped off for every single little thing possible!
As time goes on and people (mainly friends) are beginning to know about this site and what it's about (not that I'm altogether sure about that myself!), they are constantly telling me that I should be doing a story on this, that and the other thing, and I keep promising that I WILL do a story on this, that and the other thing. Mainly from my good friend The Crusty Blaa. Listeners to Timmy Ryan's show on WLR will be familiar with the little bit of banter that goes on between us (by the way, Timmy, cheers for the excellent plug on your show yesterday, much appreciated!).
Anyway, old Crusty was banging on about the price it is to get his hair cut in Hogan's on John's street recently, well, several times actually! And he has a point. He was saying that just before the Euro came in, he was paying £3! Damn reasonable I'd say. But as soon as the mighty Euro struck, every time he went in it went up and up and up. It's now €9! I had to agree that it's a bit feckin' steep, considering it's hardly the "in" place for the trendiest guy in Waterford to get his hair cut! Then I pointed out the THE trendiest guy in Waterford (me!), gets his hair cut across the road in New Art Riot for the same price! Something is wrong in the state of Barberland!
Moving on from that, I was having some problems with my electric shower a couple of weeks ago. It was under guarantee, so we called the man! He said the call out would be free if the problem was with the shower unit. He came while I was in bed, checked everything out, and found the problem was with the shower switch, so he replaced it, easy right. It was so fu€king easy in fact, he felt the need to charge us €70!!!! If I wasn't having my beauty sleep that man would of had trouble removing the ring from his neck! Something is wrong in the state of Electricianville!
The list goes on and on and on. This is where you come in. I want anyone out there who feels that they have been ripped off over ANYTHING to tell us all here about it. Name and shame those who have extorted money from you and others, preferably from Waterford, but if you're really miffed, from anywhere at all!
