I was just watching Sky News and I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the guy who reviews the newspapers for tomorrow being particular insulting to the Irish people, doesn't he realise that WE are the only people who can take the piss out of us???!
So I put finger to keyboard and wrote an e-mail, we'll see if I get a reply and I'll put it up here! This is how it went!
Dear Sir/Madam,
I've just watch your "papers" section on Sky news Active and I have to say I'm absolutely appalled by the rather insulting comments made by the so-called analyst, I can't remember his name because it seems I'm only a thick Irishman.
First of all, let me point out that there is NO CONFUSION in this country regarding the change-over to the metric system, and can I also point out that only an English paper would make a blatant mockery of us as a nation. I didn't catch what paper it was but I'm guessing it was The Mail.
Next, let me point out that your mockery is only there because it is making you realise that one day you might have to change to the metric system yourselves and this is in someway a sideswipe at Europe, "forget it mate, we will NEVER surrender to you!" And this in turn makes you realise that you will one day have to give up your precious sterling!
Aside from all of my crazy conspiracy ideas, all I'm looking for is a slight apology regarding that ignoramus's comments with that terrible OIRISH accent that he attempted!

Saw the following on yahoo and it sums it up for me...

Who the fcuk do they think they are?
Its no wonder the whole world hates the English, its purely for their snobbery and their no one but us attitude.
But as you say it won't be long till they have to conform themselves and then we'll have the last laugh.
They seem to think by trying to remain seperate to the rest of Europe it makes them really indepedant and powerful, for fcuk sake look at that tool Blair hanging iut with Osama Bin Bush all the time thinkin he's involved in the decision making progress, sorry Tony Bush don't give a sh1t about you and neither does the rest of the world.
