Am I the only one who thinks that Sonia O'Sullivan has betrayed all of Ireland with her decision to become an Australian, just so she can compete in the commonwealth games? I always thought that the commonwealth games was only something that was set up by the British to give them the false idea that they still had some kind of empire, even though it crumbled beneath their feet decades ago.
Ireland refused to remain part of the commonwealth for very specific reasons back in the day. Australia on the other hand are still very much in love with the queen and she is still their head of state. So that would suggest to me that Sonia would readily bow to the queen, and for anyone still considers themselves Irish to this is unbelievable!!!!
She said she would never compete against Ireland in any way, but I'm sorry, as soon as she falls under any flag bearing the Union Jack, she is NO LONGER IRISH and should be asked to hand back her passport! I suppose the fact that she's from Queenstown (Cobh) might have something to do with it, given their history! I for one don't want to see here in green again for two reasons, one being all of the above, the other, well, she's CRAP!
