Good Friday
[mad-blaa] Thursday, April 08 @ 19:06:42 PDT
Rantings What's the deal with Good Friday in this country??? Here we are in the forefront of a modern society (apparently!) and we are STILL governed by the church! What I am talking about is that the pubs are f**king closed!

I know that a lot of you are saying,"hang on you're a barman, surely you should be happy", and I am, a day off is a day off! But if I wasn't a barman, I still would prob be off and would have nothing to do! Hey hang on, I AM A BARMAN AND I STILL have nothing to do! It's well Waterford United have a match tomorrow. AND since I mentioned that, that match was nearly called off, BECAUSE it's Good Friday!

When you think about Ireland, which now is very much cosmopolitan, all kinds of races, religions and creeds now living here, we are still answerable to the catholic church. If I am an adult and I want a drink, why can't I have one in a pub? I'm not harming anyone but myself, it's no-one business but my own! If I choose to be irreverent, that is also my choice!

I was in town earlier today and I happened to be passing an off-licence, there was so many in there, you would think the world was ending tomorrow!

AND, I'll also be enjoying a big juicy burger tomorrow, yummy!

Note: What are you doing (or what did you do???!?) this Good Friday??? To discuss click HERE
