What is going on at the moment? Why is everything so God damn boring and mundane? It seems to me that at present everybody has lost the will to live. Nothing is causing a reaction. Why? Where have all the looneys and moaners gone? How can something as big as a smoking ban in public places come in with such a whimper? After months and months of near protest the general reaction on the day was 'ah well'. Surely with over a million smokers out there somebody could have caused a fuss.
Where are all the biggots gone? Todd is gay on prime time television and nobody bats an eyelid. Is Corrie not corrupting the poor youth? Why have the spiritual leaders of this country not vilafiled TV3?
The no. 1 single in this country has 'f*ck' in the title and parents are not saying it is bad taste.
Bush puts another nail in the coffin of peace in the Middle East and virtually single handly ensures the recruitment of years of fundamentalists and suacide bombers and nothing. No protests.
I am not saying that I want our country to head towards anarchy but have we all as citizens become fatigued by years and years of protest and the end result no progress on any front made us all walkovers?
Come on people get up off your arses do something, anything. Dont let the powers that be get away with everything they do or propose without a fight. We were once known as 'The fighting Irish'.
Lets make it so once again and bring some excitement and debate God please some controversy back into this uninspired times that we are now living in.
