Driving around Waterford lately, I've been seeing these "NO RADIOTHERAPY, NO VOTE", signs everywhere. This has to be THE most ill-conceived, ignorant and downright stupid campaign I have ever seen to try to achieve the majority of Waterford’s wishes regarding getting a unit.
What the hell do you people hope to achieve by not voting? One thing is down right certain, YOU WILL NOT GET A UNIT WITH THIS PROTEST. You are only hurting the very people who can get this much needed unit for us. There are many of the politicians out there who’s top priority is to get what we are all looking for, how can not voting for them get it????
I have never missed a vote because it is everyone's duty to vote, millions of people have died for it and you are only pissing on them for not voting. the way I see it, evn if you vote for a bogus eejit, at least you are still voting.
If you want to protest put up signs saying, "NO RADIOTHERAPY, VOTE AGAINST GOVERNMENT", (not vote against Fianna Fail, by the way because mini-fianna fail (the PD's) are there too!)
I just cannot understand the ignorance of people sometimes. Luckily I haven't been effected by cancer directly or indirectly as yet (1 in 3, ye know!), but I know if I was I would be insulted by this protest.
Note: I can't believe it, i was just listening to WLR and yer woman in Ferrybank who came up with this idea was just on the main news, the number one item! It came accross as if WLR are actually behind this! Unbelievable! I've just mailed them about it, but I doubt they will read it out.

Re: No radiotherapy, no vote- ignorant stupidity! (Score: 1) by Mad-Blaa on Sunday, May 30 @ 18:46:06 PDT (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.mad-blaa.com | I asked someone today why they had the "No radiotherepy, no vote" poster up in their front window. I was gearing up for a big arguement about how stupid it all was and I got a classic answer that shut me right up! "It keeps the Fianna Fáil canvasers away!"
Classic! |
