Hope ye've all had a good feckin weekend.
Right, n Friday travellin down from the Big Smoke (Dublin) I sat for 10 minutes in the "Fastlane" on the M9 while the slow lane passed us out.
As a frequent milage thrasher, I note alot of people like to spend their life in the fast lane without actually going very fast.
And before I get shot!!!! I am aware of speed etc. But I don't see the point in doing 50 on a wide open Motorway. If you sit behind some of our visitors especially from the UK. You note their politeness on the road............when they've overtakin they get into the slower lane until ready to overtake again. Is it laziness on our part? a lack of consideration on our part? or just a stead fast need to get to Waterford for a large bottle and some blaa's?
Sincerely
Fresh _ Blaa

Re: Why bother with Dual Carriageways? (Score: 1) by Mad-Blaa on Tuesday, June 29 @ 05:29:46 PDT (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.mad-blaa.com | This is true, but at the same time you have to realise that the spped limit is 60mph on the dual carrageway and you cannot demand that someone go over that speed. I however, when I am on the fast lane at 60 mph, will always let a speed merchant pass me by and move in, as it wont be points that will go on to my licence.
By the way the fast lane is not designed for anyone to be in there for extended periods, as the name suggest, it is there for anyone in the slow lane to pass out the car in front. |
